about the author...
Hello there,
I'm Kelly Bervoets, or simply Kel.
My profession? I'm a "Well-being coach for humans and dogs".
This means that I wear different hats: I'm a child and grief coach, creative visual therapist, and dog behavioural expert.
I help and support children and adults who grieve after the death of their beloved four-legged friend and companion. I also coach children and adults who are afraid of dogs. Additionally, I teach people about dog language and how to interact safely with dogs.
I provide all these services either on location or at my coaching center, "Instinctief", in Beringen, Belgium. There, I also have my very own "doggie classroom", just like Ellis...
Similar to what you find in the hardback book and three e-books, I cruise around in a vintage convertible named "Anaïs". It's a bright yellow car that takes me to anyone who needs my help, whether or not my sweet, furry assistant, Mila, is along for the ride.
"Ellis in Wooftopia," also known as "Ellis in Hondenland" in Dutch, is my debut as an author and publisher.
It’s a children's book that was initially a nearly 200-page hardback book (in Dutch) with an educational-narrative focus, and it has now been transformed into three e-books (in English).
If you're interested, feel free to share your thoughts on the stories with me.
How do you do that?
